Rachel Holdsworth Guided Cycle Rides Flop During Tube Strike

cyclist_140910.jpg One of the alternative travel options TfL laid on during last week's tube strike was guided cycle rides - specific routes leaving at set times for novice riders to be accompanied by experienced marshalls. Unfortunately, the take-up for each ride was in single figures, with only one person turning up at Finsbury Park and Brixton. It seems Londoners are an independent lot, preferring to do it themselves - last Tuesday was the cycle hire's busiest day so far - but is it weird the take-up was so low just two days after the Sky Ride?
