Transport for London are investigating after a driverless engineering train was allowed to run for almost four miles early this morning. The train became uncoupled as it was towed along between Archway and Warren Street stations, at around 6.40am, and trundled along slowly on its own before coming to a rest. There were major delays as staff hurriedly diverted trains to the Bank branch. Part of the line is currently suspended, and TfL have emphasised that at no point were staff or passengers in any danger. Could this be an early trial of the driverless train that some politicians are in favour of? Probably not, no.
