Old And New Images Of London Revisited
Before we had the Apple Store, we had...the Apple Boutique - on the corner of Baker Street and Paddington Street. The images are from 1968 and 2008.

At first, it seems like nothing's changed at Chelsea Hospital between 1912 and 2009, but note the relative position of the gates to the buildings.

The future Princess Diana, Queen of All Our Hearts, on the streets of Pimlico in 1980, and the exact spot taken in 2009. Note the same tree in the background.

In an incredible (and somewhat pointless) piece of detective work, our intrepid photographer tracks down the location of this scene from Only Fools and Horses to Leytonstone Matalan.

The view from Holborn Circus in 1920 and 2009. Prince Albert and the Prudential Building remain constant.

'Roll the Dice' is a frequent contributor to the Londonist Flickr pool, and we've featured his inventive photography on several occasions before. One of the tricks he pulls better than anyone else is retaking old images of London from the same spot. But not content with recreating ancient postcard scenes, Roll the Dice also revisits the locations from TV shows and films (ranging as broadly as The Ladykillers and On The Buses). We've chosen seven above, but his photostream contains hundreds of other examples.
