Architect For King's Cross Square Appointed

kingscrossmockup.jpg Architects Stanton Williams have won the commission to design a new square in front of King's Cross Station, says the BBC. Anyone who loathes that nasty green canopy which forms the main entrance to the terminus can rejoice. The whole shebang will be swept away to make room for the new outdoor space, said to be larger than Leicester Square. Queueing communters will instead nestle inside the domed western concourse, already well under construction. The demolition cannot begin until the western concourse is available, hence the completion date for the square is likely to be some time in 2013. Images to follow.
