It's twenty years since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the general collapse of communism in Central and Eastern Europe. Sufficient time, perhaps, for those monumnetal changes to be seen in some kind of historical perspective. A free talk at the London School of Economics tonight will look at the combination of 'power politics' and 'people power' that led to the revolutions. President of the British Academy Adam Roberts guides us through the background and consequencies. People Power and the End of the Cold War takes place tonight in the Sheikh Zayed Theatre, New Academic Building, LSE from 6.30 to 8pm. Entrance is free and on a first-come basis.Image of Berlin Wall from Siyublog's Flickr stream, under Creative Commons license.
