Gherkin Versus Canary Wharf

twitdispute.jpg

For all those looking for a bit of nonsense to while away their Friday, look no further than Twitter, where @thegherkin and @canary_wharf are having a towering argument. The Wharf says: "Careful sunshine. Do your research before you start getting architectural on me. Mr Pelli is one of the greats. A legend no less." Gherkin says: "Arrogant and trouble making as always I see... you can take the boy out of (or rename parts of) Essex but you can't..." etc. etc.

The Isle of Dogs hasn't been part of Essex since the end of the heptarchy some time in the 9th century. It was of course part of the county of Middlesex.

You'd really think an important London landmark would know that, wouldn't you?

Hence why it says 'or rename'.

Actually the Wharf made the same point as I did. Genius.

I'm enjoying this so much.
