Win: Tickets To ‘Shock Doctrine’ Talk By Naomi Klein
shockdoctrine.jpg

Naomi Klein, author of No Logo, will talk about her new book The Shock Doctrine tomorrow evening at the South Bank Centre. Sounds like it’s going to be a big seller…

Based on breakthrough historical research and four years of on-the-ground reporting, Klein reveals that our world is increasingly in thrall to a little understood ideology that is conquering the globe by systematically exploiting moments of disaster and trauma. This is the shock doctrine. It is a strategy that has been evolving over the past thirty-five years. Constructed by one of the most influential economists in the world, the late Milton Friedman, it has been developed by his powerful followers, many of whom are at the highest levels of government today including Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney.

We have two pairs of tickets to give away. To enter, simply email londonist - at - gmail - dot com with the subject line ‘Kleintalk’. We promise we won’t do anything shocking with your email address.

Act fast - the talk is tomorrow, so we’ll randomly pick winners at the end of today.

Meanwhile, watch the accompanying video by Alfonso Cuarón.
