  • The boys are back in town. IOC bods are in London for a few days to check on Olympic progress. Everyone on best behaviour, please.
  • Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports accusations (from France, of course) that at least six IOC members were bribed during the bidding process. Anyone know the french for 'sour grapes'...?
  • ...Or expensive chocolate? For a £50,000 Easter egg from Paris has gone on display at La Maison du Chocolat on Piccadilly. The great ovum of choco-bling contains 100 half-carat diamonds. That's going to play havoc with someone's fillings.
  • In related news, the Evening Standard have started a campaign to save an historic block of shops in Hatton Garden, centre of the London diamond trade. The threatened retailers, many of whom have traded on the spot for generations, are being forced out so a modern block of offices can go ahead. (No URL, you'll have to buy the paper copy. We just wanted to show off how clever we are by linking four stories together so effortlessly.)
