Ticket Alert: Summer Film Season At Somerset House

Somerset House

Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House has been going for 10 years, giving Londoners a chance to watch classic and contemporary films outdoors in the courtyard of one of London's most elegant buildings.

Presale tickets are available from 10am tomorrow (14 May), for those who have registered. If you missed the chance to register, tickets go on general sale at 10am on 16 May. Tickets are £16 for a single screening, £20 for a double screening, or £24 for a premiere screening.

To celebrate the event's 10th anniversary, a special season of screenings will run at Somerset House in August. Films shown range from Sense and Sensibility to Rosemary's Baby, and there's a double helping of cheese with Hairspray (1988) and Spring Breakers shown in one evening. The season comes to a close on 20 August with the UK premiere screening of What We Do In The Shadows, a mock-documentary about four vampires sharing a flat in New Zealand. See the full programme here.

Plus, on 19 August, there will be an audience choice screening. Votes are open until 22 May, so click here to pick your favourite film from the highlights of the past 10 years. Classics such as The Shining and The Big Lebowski are on the shortlist.

Bring your own blankets and cushions, or buy them once you arrive. Get there early to bag a good spot, bring a picnic, and listen to live DJs as the sun sets.

Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House runs 7-20 August. Tickets £16./£20/£24 plus booking fee.
