Saturday:

  • Consider the supernatural at the London Ghost Conference at Bishopsgate Institute from 10.30am-6pm (tickets £20 +bkg).
  • Find out who’s the fastest man, woman and child in Brixton at the Brixton Bolt.
  • The London Anarchist Bookfair is at Queen Mary University with reading matter, meetings, films and discussions from 10am to 7pm (admission free).
  • Get the kids involved with the Big Draw at Goldsmiths from 11am-4pm (free).
  • The huge TNT Travel Show is at Islington’s Business Design Centre from 9.30am-5.30pm (free if you register in advance, £2 on the door).
  • Whitechapel Gallery Family Day is an opportunity to explore the gallery with a child and do some painting and dancing from 12-4pm (free).
  • Visit the Old Operating Theatre on its 50th birthday today and get in free! Surgical demonstrations will take place on the hour, every hour from 11am to 4pm (free).
  • Take a Lomography workshop at Museum of London and learn about film photography from 1.30pm (tickets £12).
  • Try Chinese Opera with the Beijing and Kunqu Opera Gala at Rudolf Steiner House near Baker Street from 2.30-4.50pm (tickets £12/conc.£8).
  • London Salutes William Burroughs at the Horse Hospital with film, music, spoken word and more (admission £8.50/conc.£7).
  • Dance with the dead at the Day of the Dead party at Zigfrid von Underbelly from 10pm-3am (tickets £5 in advance).
