Games RideShare Offers Olympic Carpooling

Got to get somewhere during the Olympics but public transport isn't an option? GamesRideshare.com offers Londoners a chance to share a ride and cut down on car journeys.

The site allows drivers to share travel plans online and find passengers to fill empty seats for any work and games-related car journeys they need to make during the Olympics this summer. GamesRideshare.com creator Dinesh Jethwa says:

With London’s public transport network braced for a staggering 13 million trips over the Games, and 170 miles of UK roads prioritised for official games traffic thanks to the Olympic Route Network (ORN), we need to do all we can to ease the burden of travel for everyday Londoners who have to get to work and want to enjoy the unique sporting events taking place on their own doorsteps this summer.

Annie Mole recently highlighted the lack of early Sunday tube services which would get spectators to Olympic venues in time for events — carpooling could be a solution (assuming you can find somewhere to park).
