Stay late at the Science Museum on Wednesday

Tonight: Late Shift sees the National Portrait Gallery open till 9pm tonight and tomorrow with music and gallery tours; an after work opportunity to see William Hoare's portrait of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo.

Friday: Comedian Andrew O'Neill does a set at the comedy show at Farringdon's Betsey Trotwood from 7.30pm. Free entry.

Scandalism at the Nest, Dalston is free before 10pm and Bangers and Mash is free entry all night at the Queen of Hoxton.

Saturday: Join the Bow Creek Foreshore Clean-up with Thames 21, 8.30-11am (and Sunday, from 9am).

Soul Shack brings classic Motown, stax and Northern Soul to the The Royal Sovereign, E5 from 8.30pm-1am, free entry.

Sunday: Social Sunday Open Mic offers a chilled out canal view and eclectic live music from 7.30-11.30pm. At Inspiral 250 Camden High Street, NW1. Free entry.

Monday: The Good Ship Comedy Club in Kilburn is just a fiver - or four pounds in advance - for laughs from Pete Firman, Gerry Howell, Kishore Nayar and Sooze Kempner. Reserve via [email protected].

Tuesday:The Royal College of Surgeons' Extinct exhibition runs 2 family object handling workshops at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Free but please book as numbers are limited.

Wednesday: The adults only Science Museum (pictured) late is all about attraction from 6.45pm including speed dating and a cockroach tour (?!?). Free, till 10pm.
