London Shows Opening: Be There First
Opening tonight is a fantastic trio of dance treats: choose from Alvin Ailey's American Dance Theater at Sadler's Wells; or Les Ballet Trockadero De Monte Carlo at the Peacock, also from tonight; or if you fancy travelling a little further, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Over at the National the epic political thriller about Afghanistan, Blood And Gifts, transfers from the Tricycle tonight. As does A Disappearing Number at the Novello Theatre: Complicite's multi-award-winning play about, well, Maths and relationships, but don't let that put you off. And if you're heading out to Richmond, you can catch the ever-brilliant Olivier-award-winning Morecambe from tonight until Saturday.
For the rest of the week in theatre, you can see Design for Living, Noel Coward's threesome rom-com opens at the Old Vic from Wednesday. House Of Games by David Mamet at the Almeida Theatre from Thursday sees a psychoanalyst drawn into the world of poker in trying to help a patient. Or if you fancy something a bit more musical, choose from Sondheim at 80 at the Donmar from Thursday, or Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman to you and me) is singing at the Garrick Theatre for two nights from Friday. Finally for theatre, The Aliens, starring Mackenzie Crook opens at the Bush Theatre on Monday.
For opera, we recommend Gounod's Faust at the London Coliseum, led by Toby Spence (2008's Candide) and Melody Moore (2009's Mimì in La Bohème) as Faust and Marguerite.

Last Chance To See: London Shows Closing
Theatrewise, The Human Comedy closes at the Young Vic on Saturday, as does Oikos at Jellyfish Theatre and Punk Rock at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Artswise, Wolfgang Tillmans closes at the Serpentine on Sunday, as does Magnificent Maps at the British Library, and the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. If you miss out, don't say we didn't warn you!
