Preview: London Word Festival

LondonWord.jpg The London Word Festival is back, baby! Secure on the scene for the next three years, you really should get out and enjoy this brilliantly eclectic festival that's about so much more than words. Running 7th March to 1st April in various venues across East London, they've got everything. Really. Even that.

Josie Long rounds up her 100 Days to Make Me a Better Person proect with Isy Suttie and Sara Pascoe; Robin Ince leads another School for Gifted Children with everyone's favourite scientist Prof Brian Cox and the excellent comedian Helen Keen (more performers tbc for this Space special); Toby Litt is among the writers taking part in Avant! Noir, a night of criminal deeds. And that's just the first week.

Get your words screenprinted and contribute to the Festival's 2010 poem. Consider how you're spending your time on this planet. Discover what the Docklands would tell of its past if it could speak (and what Iain Sinclair thinks about it). Be chilled to the bone by spooky stories. Then wrap the whole thing up with John Hegley and friends.

There's yet more going on, so to see just why we're this fricking excited you should check out the Festival's website. We'll bring you reports from the field, but don't leave it too long to get tickets - last year, most events were booked solid.

The London Word Festival, 7th March - 1st April, at venues around East London. Read their website for more information.
