Michael Jackson O2 Tribute Shows Cancelled

1108_jacko.jpg The pair of rush-job tribute concerts to Michael Jackson, scheduled for the end of the month, have been axed after promoters failed to round up enough performers. Stellar names including Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis, and Usher had provisionally thrown their names into the tilted white fedora. But the disputes and controversies unearthed in the wake of the King of Pop's funeral cortege (the latest being that the star of Oliver fathered Jackson's kids), and the Jackson family finger-pointing at promoter AEG for hastening the singer's death through the pressure of his comeback gigs, have scuppered the project, and any tribute shows will be postponed till next year. Jarvis Cocker, who was reportedly scheduled to perform the final number at the show, abseiling down the O2 roof nude and sporting a newly-inked full body tattoo of Michael's cankered face while performing We Are The World, was unavailable for comment.
