Concerned about CCTV? ID cards? Over zealous counter terrorism legislation? The Convention on Modern Liberty could be for you. Held at the Institute of Education, Bedford Way, on 28 February, 1,000 people will gather to discuss the threat to freedom and rights by the state. Speakers include Shami Chakrabarti, Philip Pullman, David Davies, Nick Clegg and former Guantanamo inmate Moazzam Begg. Topics under discussion range from the database state and press freedom to xenophobia and the police. Tickets cost £35 / £20 concession.
