Comedy Preview: Missed Connections by Terry Saunders.

This Saturday might well be your last chance to catch Missed Connections, the supremely heart-warming, twee, and utterly hilarious show by Terry Saunders. Terry is a stand-up storyteller whose gentle, melancholic and spellbinding stories can make you laugh, cry and laugh again, all in one breath. He's also one of the brains behind laughterinoddplaces, which we recommended in the olden days. Londonist is a big fan of Terry Saunders, and so should you be.

Missed Connections tells the story of Ethel, a quirky girl who finds herself growing increasingly fond of looking for herself in the "I Saw You" style adverts in the London press. But as every day brings further disappointment, she starts to match-make the people placing the adverts.

The show received heaps of praise during its Edinburgh run, and just a few months ago was nominated for the Chortle Best Show award - and all with good reason. If you dislike stand-up where machismo prevails, and prefer your comedy with a whimsical beauty and tender charm, you should definitely catch this show while you can.

Oh, and if you needed any more convincing - the show is being held in a bookshop. In a bookshop!! You don't get more indie than that.
