Good news - a new generation of these 'bus-stop potatopines' has recently appeared along the no 55 route. They are even more complex and sophisticated than the first batch, featuring more richly patterned bodies and an inner and outer sphere of prongs, using cotton buds as well as cocktail sticks this time.
And they're a bastard to photograph unless you happen to be well over six foot tall.
We followed the trail from Shoreditch to Holborn, but it may stretch beyond. Has anyone seen them further afield, and do we know who the artist might be? We want to interview them, dammit.

I notice from recent trips on the 91 bus that they've appeared along Southampton Row and Kingsway, too.
a few weeks ago, i noticed that one of the evil potato things (placed at a bus shelter by shoreditch town hall) had an email address on it. i couldn't catch it, it was something @gmail.com. anyone else see it?
there are now more updates... through dalston, higbury - even saw one at tott ct road.
was the mystery of who the artist might be ever uncovered?
i would like to shake their hand.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who spots these! They're back...spotted on top of stops both sides on bus route 67, Stoke Newington through to edge of Shoreditch last night. Still using cotton buds and plastic forks!
I think they're great. Much better than the usual food wrapper rubbish!
