This pub was voted as one of the best in Victoria Park by Londonist readers.
This place's USP, obvious as soon as you walk in, is the stonebake pizza oven squatting behind the bar. It has to be admitted, it throws out a very good pizza — and for just £5 on weekday lunchtimes. But there's plenty more to the grand old corner boozer. There's the free jukebox opposite the bar; Karaoke evenings and DJ nights; a regular quiz; art shows; and a space that manages to serve both Sunday diners and Friday night revellers. The drinks list isn't huge, but a line-up of local ales, bottled and draught, plus a small but thoughtful wine list will see anyone right. Those in need of gluten-free beer are served well by bottles of Celia GF pilsner, and gluten-free pizza is also available (see our guide to gluten-free drinking).
Quiz night is Wednesday.
