Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. See if we've included your local.
The Hammersmith Ram is the type of sought-after establishment that comes across as both well-run and caring of its customers' needs. It's the small things that count — the enormous bouquet on the bar, the comfortable chairs, the friendly bar staff even on the most dubious of Friday nights.
The decor is pleasant but a real mish-mash — Tudor-style panelling here, elaborate brick walls there — though Young's have tamed things somewhat in a recent refit. Little alcoves spatter the long, thin pub and the walls are dotted with peculiar caricatures and ghost signs.
There is a small patio at the front, and a beer garden at the back. Given that the pub sits on the busy King Street, we suggest the garden.
There are plenty of Young's beers on tap and a bountiful wine list. Food is, in our experience, very impressive (the fish pie is to be commended).
