Lord Clyde

Lord Clyde

Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. Is your local listed?

The Lord Clyde is a friendly and unashamedly traditional pub. The décor features many well-preserved original features from its rebuilding about a century ago. You’ll find a comfortable mix of leather seats, polished brass and wood panelling, and gorgeous glazed tiles on the exterior. While not selling any particularly 'adventurous' ales, the four or five cask beers from major UK breweries are invariably kept in immaculate condition, making this pub a pretty safe bet for drinkers of real ale. Food options are straightforward and inexpensive, with a range of burgers, sandwiches and pub classics.

The pub's namesake, incidentally, was a Victorian soldier who served with distinction in the Crimean War, and later in India. You can find a statue to him in Waterloo Place.
