The Crabtree

The Crabtree

This pub was editorially chosen for inclusion by Londonist.

This is a pretty well-to-do pub in a pretty well-to-do area (the River Cafe is practically next door), and life-drawing classes and beer-pairing workshops reinforce the 'bit posh' vibe. Yet the Crabtree has an open, friendly feel that makes everyone feel welcome. The spacious updated Victorian interior is a pleasant place to dine or drink. The real attraction here, though, is the enormous beer garden. You could probably seat half of Fulham FC's home support in here. The pub benefits from sweeping Thames views, but is far from any major centre so doesn't attract too much passing trade. That makes this one of the best bets in London for bagging some riverside pub space on a sunny weekend. They do BBQs too. Four ale pumps offer a couple of regulars and a couple of lesser-seen beers.

Quiz night is Tuesday.
