The RAF Museum revives the historic Hendon Pageant

PRISON MUSEUM: Wandsworth Heritage Festival offers a rare chance to visit Wandsworth Prison Museum, located in a garage just metres from the wall of the prison itself. CLOSING SOON: Time's running out to see the Nelson Mandela exhibition, a look back at the life of former prisoner turned South African leader. Some of the exhibits are quite hard-hitting, but could do with more detail in some parts — read our full review. Leake Street Gallery (Waterloo), £15, book ahead, until 2 June. Also closing this week is Swinging London, a look back at the Chelsea Set of the 1960s, including designers Mary Quant and and Terence Conran. Fashion and Textile Museum (Bermondsey), £9.90, book ahead, until 2 June

CAMDEN ROCKS: Deaf Havana, Frank Turner and The Pigeon Detectives are some of the 400+ acts playing at Camden Rocks, a music festival taking place at 20 venues around Camden. One ticket gets you access to all the gigs, but plan ahead as some venues will reach capacity quite a while ahead of stage times. Various Camden locations, from £40, book ahead, 1-2 June

Stock up on plants and pots at Grown & Thrown

CRAFT MARKET: One of our favourite London markets, Crafty Fox Market returns with another specially-curated line-up of artists and creators. Workshops take place throughout the weekend, including a kids' Father's Day card event. Mercato Metropolitano (Elephant & Castle), free entry, just turn up, 1-2 June

ARCHITECTURE TOURS: As part of London Festival of Architecture, the National Archives invites the public inside for tours of the purpose-built 'brutalist bunker' in Kew, built in 1977. There's even a chance to go on the roof. National Archives (Kew), £10, book ahead, 1-2 June

GROWN AND THROWN: Plants and pots go together at Grown And Thrown, a mix and match sale of pot plants, and the ceramics to grow them in. Several ceramicists exhibit and sell their products, catering to many different tastes and styles. DIY Art Shop (Dalston), free entry, just turn up, 1-2 June

ART TRAIL: Head to the Borough of Culture, Waltham Forest, for the 15th year of the E17 Art Trail. Over a fortnight, take part in walking tours and art workshops, visit artists' open studios, and much more. Full programme here. Many events are free, some require booking. Various Walthamstow locations, 1-16 June

HALF TERM: If ideas (and cash) are in short supply as half term draws to a close, take a look at our school holidays guide. We've got suggestions including kids' comedy, a science day, and an interactive exhibition all about animals.
