Slurp By Candlelight In The Subterranean Cellars Of Gordon's Wine Bar

Nestled between Embankment and Charing Cross stations, an underground drinking den awaits. And Gordon's Wine Bar is as atmospheric as they come — low, arched ceilings, flickering candlelight and walls plastered with smoke-stained newspaper prints. With over 120 bottles of wine and many vintages hand-selected by manager, Gerard Menan, it's also a prime spot for some supreme boozing.

It may be below-ground, but that doesn't mean this cellar is undiscovered. With exceptional wines and intimate surrounds, it's rightly popular. Luckily, there's an outdoor terrace for a little extra wiggle room.

Gordon's Wine Bar is located at 47 Villiers Street, WC2N 6NE.
