Two planned 24-hour Tube strikes which were due to happen this week have been called off at the last minute.

Members of the RMT Union were due to strike on 19-20 May (12pm Tuesday-11.59am Wednesday) and 21-22 May (12pm Thursday-11.59am Friday). All strike action on these days has now been cancelled.

The strikes are in protest against the planned introduction of a compressed four-day working week for Tube drivers.

An RMT spokesperson said:

At the 11th hour the employer has shifted its position allowing us to further explore our members concerns around the imposition of new rosters, fatigue and safety issues.

The dispute is not over and more strike action will follow if we fail to make sufficient progress.

Additionally, further Tube strikes which were scheduled for 16 and 18 June have now been moved forward to take place on 2 and 4 June instead, if the dispute hasn't been resolved by then.
