Tube Strikes Across Central, Piccadilly And Waterloo & City Lines This Week
This train probably won't be here on Wednesday

***UPDATE: The Piccadilly line strike has been called off, but the others are still set to go ahead.***

Don't shoot the messenger. But...

Strikes are set to close down the Central, Piccadilly and Waterloo & City lines this week.

There will be no service all day on the entire Central and Waterloo & City lines on Wednesday 7 November.

Strike action begins slightly later on the Piccadilly line: TfL is advising passengers to complete their journeys before 1.30pm on Wednesday 7 November (we've all more or less wrapped up our day by then anyway, right?).

That's not the end of it: There will be no service on the Piccadilly line on the morning of Thursday 8 November, until about 3pm on the same day. So you'll be able to get home from work... you just won't be able to get there in the first place.

The strikes are the result of TfL and unions RMT and Aslef continuing to be at loggerheads. While the unions cite a 'breakdown in industrial relations' as the reason behind regular strike action, TfL claims that action is 'totally unjustifiable'. Meanwhile, fare paying passengers continue to go slowly mad.

In September, the Piccadilly line was brought to a halt on-and-off across a four-day period.

TfL will lay on around 150 extra buses on the Wednesday, and over 80 extra buses on Thursday.

Keep up to date on the latest news on TfL's strike page.
