The Night Overground Is Extending To Highbury & Islington

The night Overground service is extending to include two new stations: Canonbury and Highbury & Islington, from 23 February.

Since December 2017, 24-hour services have run between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate every Friday and Saturday (a kind of all-night partying corridor for hipsters). With its new north London additions, the swanky uplands of Upper Street and its surrounds will be now be open to those Londoners who don't fancy downing their pints, to catch the last tube home. We hope the extension brings steady business to the many quality establishments in these parts, like the Bill Murray, Union Chapel and the Garage.

Said Jonathan Fox, TfL's director of London rail and sponsored services:

The extension of Night Overground to Highbury & Islington will make life easier for thousands more Londoners and visitors, opening up a new late night connection between east and north London and boosting the night time economy.

The new Highbury & Islington night stop means that the Victoria line night tube and Overground night tube will now join up.

Night Overground services are not yet stopping at Whitechapel, due to ongoing Crossrail work.
