It's was a thrilling start to the week transport-wise, what with the opening of the Silvertown Tunnel.
And we're signing off on a high, because thanks to the London Minute we've just stumbled across this marvellous new real time Tube map.

Though the concept isn't entirely novel (others have made the most of TfL's open data to create their own before now), engineer Ben James' map is a smooth, stylish one. Zoomed out, you're presented with coloured lines on a geographically accurate (at least it looks it) topography of the city.
Zoom in, and a 3D London unfolds, featuring individual buildings — many recognisable landmarks. It's a remarkable rendering, melding together the not-actually-real squiggle of Tube lines, with the very real bricks-and-mortar of the city.

By hovering over trains you can see where they're headed from and to, the next stops on their trip, and the percentage of progress of their overall journey.
The whole thing is very satisfying to explore. Just think, when you next find yourself stuck in a Central line tunnel, you'll be able to see the very train you're trapped on, going absolutely nowhere in real time!
Anyway, we'll be playing on this all weekend now — thanks Ben.
