With 16 months to go until Crossrail opens to the public, new photos of station exteriors have been released.
Highlights include a glazed canopy 30 metres above the platforms at Paddington, a new timber and glass entrance to Abbey Wood, and brick and stone finishes on the street level buildings at Tottenham Court Road.
Crossrail also recently released photos of the finishing touched being added to the inside of the stations, and showed us what the tunnels look like.
Crossrail is due to go into passenger service in the new tunnels beneath London in December 2018, although some of the trains that will serve the route are already in service at Liverpool Street.
Simon Wright, Crossrail Programme Director, said:
Since construction began in 2009, much of the work for the Elizabeth line has mostly taken place below ground. The new stations and structures can now be seen rising upwards giving passengers a glimpse of their new railway that will open on time in December 2018.
And no, we're still not calling it the Elizabeth line.
