Rental e-scooters are finally coming to London this June, and you've got the chance to try them out for free.
Dott — one of three companies chosen by TfL to bring this eco-friendly, ultra-convenient mode of transportation to the capital — is inviting anyone who's curious about its blue-hued two-wheeled beauties for a complimentary whizz around west London.
Each Dott scooter is equipped with a removable battery which is charged using renewable energy. As a matter of fact, the entire company is now carbon neutral, having used green initiatives to offset CO2 emissions. Dott aims to further reduce its carbon footprint by a huge 56% by the end of the year.
As well as being kind to the planet, a top priority for Dott — Europe's leading micro-mobility company — is safety. Research conducted by the company in November 2020 showed that only 9% of people in the UK have ridden an e-scooter before. That's why they're offering free trial rides so Londoners can learn to scoot around the city with confidence.
Each session takes place on Ealing Common and lasts 30 minutes. You and your mates will get the chance to learn the rules of the road in a controlled environment before going it alone.
As well as experiencing the thrill of these zippy little rides, each participant will take home an exclusive Dott swag bag. Free credit is also up for grabs, allowing you to embark on future e-scooter adventures for less.
Dott's free trial sessions kick off on 12 June and run on selected Saturdays throughout the summer.
If you're already au fait with e-scooters, though, you can try out the Dott experience a little earlier — their e-scooters will be available to find, rent, and ride from Monday 7 June. All you have to do is download the free Dott app, locate your nearest set of wheels, and unlock them by scanning the QR code.
However you choose to ride, you can feel confident in the knowledge that all Dott e-scooters are serviced entirely by local, in-house employees to guarantee safety and reliability.
