This year's participants are running at a time/location of their choosing, which means you may be seeing a number of random Wallys running past you in June.

If you've stumbled across this article in June 2025 — eager to see if you're going mad, or you really do keep seeing Wallys running through your local park — then hopefully this will put you at ease.

June marks the Where's Wally? Fun Run 2025 — raising money for the National Literacy Trust. In previous years, the event has taken place at a given location/set time, but in 2025 it's down to participants to choose a date and place in June to do their sponsored run. Which which means you could be seeing a number of people in stripy tops, bobble hats and round specs running zooming past you at any time.

If you've been seeing any other kids' book characters doing 5ks around London lately, they may be hallucinations, and we'd advise you to seek the advice of a medical professional.

For more information — including how to take part this year — visit the National Literacy Trust website.
