Climb Aboard 40 Vintage Boats Near Tower Bridge This September

Around 40 classic boats will gather near Tower Bridge in September — for a vibrant get together in central London’s only marina.

The Classic Boats Festival at St Katharine Docks invites you to ogle and climb aboard bunting-festooned craft — including 'little ships', which rescued Allied troops from Dunkirk in 1940.

Running from 6-7 September — as part of Totally Thames — the festival also invites you to take a trip on the Lady Daphne (one of the UK's last operating wooden barges), which includes passing beneath Tower Bridge.

Other activities across the weekend include free adult flag-making workshops and paddleboarding sessions; a kids' treasure hunt; live music from the Barnet Hill Lifeboat Crew Shanty Singers (7 September) and the Thames Youth Jazz Orchestra (8 September); and street food from KERB.

Classic Boat Festival, St Katharine Docks, 6-8 September, free entry. You have to pay for Lady Daphne tours.
