SOMETHING ELSE: See the fruits of three years of photographic study at UCF's final year exhibition. It promises a mishmash of multimedia, installation, and documentary photography projects on topics as diverse as fashion for conservation, Tanzanite mines, and a local sporting venue. FREUDS IN EXILE: Through never-before-displayed original documents, letters and artifacts, the Freud Museum reveals how its namesake fled Nazi persecution and sought refuge for himself and his family in Britain. Work from members of the Baobab Centre for Young Survivors, created in collaboration with artist Barnaby Barford, will also be on display. A TALE OF ALCHEMY: Sharply dressed circus acts and bespoke cocktails? Now that's performance art we can get behind. Fashion designer Phoebe English has commissioned the Chivaree Circus Comany to create a mixology-inspired performance for you to mull over while enjoying two bespoke Grand Marnier cocktails at a five star West End hotel. THE OCCASIONAL POET: Poetry performance group Rhyme & Reason explore the art of writing in the house where Dr Samuel Johnson wrote his famed A Dictionary of the English Language. MANDELA AT RIVONIA: On the centenary of Nelson Mandela's birth, The British Library looks back at the legendary leader's 1963-64 trial where he made one of the remarkable speeches in history. Hear recordings of the man himself, as well as from Mandla Langa, the author of Mandela's posthumous memoir, Margie Orford, Salil Tripathi, and Rob Perks. FUNNY STORIES: Spark, the storytelling club that gets members of the public to share true tales is doing something a little bit different tonight. Come on down to Hackney's newest outdoor cinema event, Movies with Mind. Tonight, it's screening 80s coming-of-age classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off — so grab your picnic blanket, treat yourself to some award-winning food truck grub and revisit your misspent youth with a John Hughes masterpiece. All the proceeds from tonight's event go to mental health charity Mind.
