Things to do:

TRAILS OF THE WEST: You may think of cowboys as consigned to history books or John Wayne Westerns, but they do, in fact, still exist. Reuters staff photographer Greg Bos has been capturing the North American West on camera over the last 33 years, amassing a unique archive of fine art photography depicting working and rodeo cowboys. Barbican Library (Barbican Centre), free, just turn up, 9.30am-5.30pm, until 25 August

FROM SHADOW TO LIGHT: From wartime photography to snapping celebrities and fashion models for US magazines, Tony Vaccaro's 8 decade-spanning career has been rich and varied. Getty Images Gallery (Fitzrovia), free, just turn up, 10am-5.30pm, until 21 September

TOMORROWLAND: Pioneering Taiwanese video artist Yuan Goang-Ming presents three works that explore the perplexing state of today's world, which he casts as lurking in the shadows of looming disaster. It's your last chance to see Tomorrowland, his first UK exhibition in a public institution. Hayward Gallery (Southbank Centre), free, just turn up, 11am-7pm

KATHRYN SARGENT: Savile Row's first female master tailor is coming to Jamavar Women's Club in a much needed tonic against the traditional old boys' clubs of Mayfair. Join Kathryn Sargent in conversation with Samyukta Nair. Jamavar (Mayfair), £45, book ahead, 6.30pm

GIN SOCIAL: Hepple Gin stars in the August edition of Graphic Bar's monthly socials dedicated to mother's ruin. For just a fiver, you receive a tasting of the gin created by TV forager Valentine Warner, a cocktail, and a complimentary G&T. Graphic Bar (Soho), £5, book ahead, 6.30pm-8pm

TOXIC REASONS: Good news for fans of hard core punk band Toxic Reasons — tonight's gig has been moved from The Underworld to The Unicorn, and it's gone from being £17, to completely free (those who already bought tickets have been promised an automatic refund). The Unicorn (Camden), free, book ahead, 7pm-11pm

BREATHE: In this dark comedy, four housemates go through the trials and tribulations of trying to accomplish their dreams while living in London (hands up if you can relate). Will they choose security, or transform their fears into fuel for their aspirations? Tristan Bates Theatre (Covent Garden), £10, book ahead, 7.45pm, until 11 August

CLUELESS: As if Rooftop Film Club have chosen 90s classic teen comedy Clueless for their latest al fresco screening. Catch up with Cher, Dionne and the gang over bottomless popcorn and a glass of fizz. Bussey Building (Peckham), £15.95, book ahead, 8.45pm

PROTEST SONG: Inspiring idealism meets harsh realism in this gritty play about a rough sleeper who comes face to face with the Occupy movement. Expect carol singing, outraged chanting and Anonymous masks. Camden People's Theatre (Camden), £10, book ahead, 9pm

Good cause of the day

If you sign up for Khalsa Aid's Hyde Park 5k right now, you've got six whole days of training and fundraising ahead of you before the event on 12 August. They ask that you raise a minimum of £50 to support their global relief work and, if you're not feeling quite up for a run, they're welcoming walkers, too.
