LONDON BLUES WEEK: Put on your red shoes and dance the blues. It's London Blues Week, which brings performers including blues guitar prodigy Chantel McGregor, American blues singer-songwriter Sugaray Rayford and three time Blues Music Award nominee Sharrie Williams to the stage for special shows. 100 Club (Oxford Street), various prices, book ahead, 14-19 January

LAST CHANCE: You're running out of time to see the work of London's two strongest Impressionist collections side by side — while Courtauld Gallery is closed, some of its items are on show at The National Gallery. JEREMY BENTHAM: Not content with its famous Jeremy Bentham auto-icon, UCL has added another item to its collection; a 3D portrait of the philosopher's head, designed so it feels like his eyes are following you around the room. CHAPEL SINGERS: Give your vocal chords a work out with Union Chapel Singers. The community choir meets most weeks and sings a variety of music including pop, folk and classical. New to the whole singing thing? Don't worry — there are no auditions, and you don't event need to be able to read sheet music. Union Chapel (Islington), £6, just turn up, 7.30pm

PHOTOGRAPHS: Every month, London Metropolitan Archives focuses on a different art form. For January it's photography, beginning with this event, which looks at photos in different documents from the archive's collection. London Metropolitan Archives (Clerkenwell), free, just turn up, 2pm-3pm

POP FIT: The first of POPfit's series of fitness events at 100 Wardour Street takes place tonight. It's aimed at people of all fitness levels, and ditches equipment in favour of listening to natural movements of the body, combining cardio, stretching and strengthening.
