The huge RideLondon event is having a fallow year in 2025, but there's another, brand new, festival for cyclists to get wheely excited about.
On 25 May 2025, the London Cycling Festival comes to 14 London boroughs — that's almost half of them — with a slew of family-friendly rides and activities, including bike markets, BMX events, obstacle courses, live music and a performance from the Bicycle Ballet Company.

Most importantly, over 30 family-friendly cycle rides — organised by local councils, and helped along by trained ride leaders and marshals — will take place across the capital, encouraging people to take to two wheels. Though the kind of central London road closures we're used to during RideLondon don't seem to be happening, certain areas will be cleared for cyclists as part of the London Cycling Festival, including Hackney Sunday Streets, a 2km closed road circuit in Hoxton with rides, activities and entertainment.
The London Cycling Festival is organised by London Cycling Campaign (the folks behind the after-dark Women's Freedom Ride, which took place in February), in cahoots with various London boroughs, and with support from Lime and the Zero Emissions Network.
