Back in 2010, the first The Twin Peaks UK Festival was held — a coffee and cherry pie-quaffing celebration of David Lynch's cosmic murder mystery masterpiece, which originally ran on TV from 1990-91, and was later followed by a feature film, then a third season in 2017.
The festival wound up in 2019, but six years on — following Lynch's recent death — it's returning to London as A Gathering of the Angels. "With the very sad passing of David Lynch," say the festival organisers, "we feel the time is now right to celebrate and pay respect to David and his legacy."
Running on Saturday 27-Sunday 28 September 2025 at Whitechapel's Genesis Cinema, A Gathering of the Angels promises a feast of the weird, wonderful (and sometimes horrific). There'll be live interviews with Lynch collaborators including producer Sabrina S. Sutherland; the first UK screening of I Know Catherine, The Log Lady; Lynch-inspired short films; group meditation with the David Lynch Foundation; and a DJ set from Twin Peaks mega fan (and Charlatans frontman) Tim Burgess. And lashings of cherry pie and coffee, surely — the classic combo Agent Dale Cooper falls for, while he's sleuthing around town.
