No Kitten Around: 'Crufts For Cats' Comes To London Next Week

We're feline rather excited that an event described as 'Crufts for cats' comes to London next week.

The London Cats International Show And Expo — not to be confused with Catfest 2019 which is happening in June — has kitties from around the world going up against each other.

Various competitions take place across seven judging rings, with cats (and judges) from all over the world showcasing the cream of the crop. Bengal, British Short Hair, Maine Coon and Sphynx cats are among the breeds exhibited, with other prizes including Best Kitten, Best Cat and Best Household Pet up for grabs.

Elsewhere, a meowntain of kitty goodies are available to browse and buy, ranging from the practical (litter boxes and cat food) to custom made cat bowls and toys.

Paws for a chat with celebrities of the cat world, London busker James Bowen and his sidekick, A Street Cat Named Bob. The pair became famous through Bowen's memoirs, A Street Cat Named Bob, The World According to Bob and A Gift from Bob.

A word of warning though — unless your own kitty is competing, he or she won't be allowed in, so leave them at home.

London Cats International Show And Expo is at Tobacco Dock, Wapping, 4-5 May 2019. Tickets are £26.49 (concessions £16.29) and need to be booked in advance.
