Team GB Is Broadcasting The Whole London 2012 Opening Ceremony On Facebook Today

The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony will be broadcast in its entirety on Facebook this afternoon (Thursday 26 March).

Team GB, the official British Olympics team, will show the programme in full from 4pm on its Facebook page, and will share some of the highlights on its Twitter feed.

The four-hour opening ceremony took place at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford in July 2012, against a backdrop of national pride and unity. Thousands of performers took part, not least Daniel Craig as James Bond, flanked by the Queen — the superhero duo we all need right now.

The ceremony also paid tribute to the NHS, a sentiment that's now more meaningful than ever. The postponement of Tokyo 2020 until next year means this could be the only Olympic action we'll see this year.

Dig out your Union Jack and tune in.
