Hurrah! This Twinkling Rooftop Ice Rink Is Returning For Winter 2019

It wouldn't be winter in London without at least one ice rink on top of a roof. Step in Skylight, the east London rooftop venue which reopens for the winter at the end of October.

The real-ice rink is back for the season — Europe's only real-ice rooftop rink apparently, and who are we to argue? — along with bars, igloos and live entertainment.

The venue takes up three storeys, with some fairly decent skyline view from the ice rink at the top, both in daylight and once dark falls. One floor down, release your competitive streak with an ice hockey penalty shooting game.

For a more relaxed evening, bag yourself a rooftop igloo and settle down with a warming cocktail or mulled wine and those epic views. Greek street food is available to buy on the lower level, with various apres-ski style bars dotted around the venue to keep things lubricated.

Skylight London, Pennington Street Car Park Entrance, Wapping, E1W 2SF. 31 October 2019-25 January 2020. Entry is free unless there's a special event on (check the website). Ice skating is £12, no advance bookings — tickets only available at the venue on the day. Igloos and special events can be booked via Design My Night.
