Hidden in the suburban back roads of Kentish Town, lies one of London's best and cosiest pubs. The whole area is awash with excellent places to drink, but this might top the list for the discerning beer drinker.
The big brother to Crouch Hill's Brave Sir Robin, the Rose & Crown's bar sits centrally in the pub, flanked by the hotchpotch mixture of seating arrangements. That just serves to give the place character, as does the dim lighting and peeling walls.
At the bar there's a wide selection of beers on tap. These change so frequently that even regulars can try something new upon each visit. The clientele are just as varied as the beers, some locals live opposite, while sweaty men trundle in for a post-match pint from the 5-a-side pitch just down the road.
The pub plays hosts to regular quiz and comedy nights, along with rotating quiz residencies — on our last visit there was an extremely tempting selection of poutine.
