We've had Pompeii and the Titanic. Now, the Pharaohs are getting in on the 'immersive history' act.

Ramses & the Pharaohs' Gold will arrive at NEON in Battersea Power Station in February 2026. Part exhibition, part immersive experience, it comes to London as part of a world tour.

The show promises to transport visitors back to the Egypt of Ramses the Great, one of the best known Pharaohs who reigned for 67 years, more than three millennia ago. (And fathered over 100 children... most people reading this will be descended from him.)

Over 180 artefacts have been assembled, including "ornately carved sarcophagi, animal mummies, magnificent jewellery, stunning royal masks, and exquisite amulets". Many of these items have never been in the UK before, including the original wooden coffin that once held Ramses II’s mummy.

(Because the show is ticketed, you might actually be able to get a good look at them, unlike in the ever-heaving Egyptian galleries of the British Museum.)

Details of the immersive/VR aspects are a little vague, though we're promised it'll take "visitors deep into Ramses’ legacy from the resplendent Tomb of Queen Nefertari to the monumental temples of Abu Simbel".

Ramses & the Pharaohs' Gold opens at NEON, Battersea Power Station on 28 February 2026. The waitlist opens on 4 December with public tickets from 10 December. General admission prices start at £24.90 for adults, with various discounts available.
