A new exhibition at Lambeth's Garden Museum looks at parks and green spaces around the capital.

The exhibition, which opens on 28 January 2026, features a series of verdant paintings by Melissa Scott-Miller. The artist has captured the beauty of our city's green spaces from private gardens to well-known parks.

Melissa paints on the spot, en plein air, producing richly coloured cityscapes with leafy perspectives. We felt uplifted just glancing through some online thumbnails of her work, so to see the paintings at full size will be a treat.

The collection includes new paintings of the Garden Museum's own green spaces, along with compositions from the wider city, including Hampstead, Battersea, the City and Hammersmith.

"From her own back garden and city streets to the carefully curated public parks and gardens, find yourself following the seasons and stories of London’s treasured green spaces."

Melissa Scott-Miller: London Parks and Gardens is at the Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace Road SE1 7LB from 28 January to 29 March 2026. Entrance is free. The wider museum involves an entrance fee, which also also allows you to climb the museum's 14th century church tower.
