As we drift inexorably into autumn, you might be thinking that the capital's al fresco activities are about to come to a close for the year. If so, you're sorely underestimating how much London loves a good rooftop.

One such rooftop is Skylight in Wapping — and it's about to get a wintry makeover.

Skylight Rooftop's winter season sees the return of the Tobacco Dock venue's gloriously cosy igloos. These transparent domes shelter visitors from inclement weather while offering cinematic views of the City's glassy behemoths. And they're available to book right now.

Igloo hire starts at £90 for four hours. That might seem hefty, but it's worth noting that each igloo can accommodate up to 10 people, and the price includes mulled wine on arrival and table service, as well as heating and blankets to ensure your cockles stay suitably warmed.

As well igloos, Skylight's winter wonderland — which is themed on an urban après skate bar — boasts the only real-ice rooftop skating rink in Europe. After something a bit more competitive? Try the ice hockey penalty shooting game on the venue's lower level, before heading back upstairs to sip seasonal cocktails, listen to live DJ sets, and admire those Insta-worthy views.

Skylight Rooftop's winter season kicks off on 31 October, and admission to the venue is free. However, those igloos are sure to get booked up quickly, so get planning now.
