Free illuminations festival Winter Lights returns to Canary Wharf in January 2026, and it's a special one as the event celebrates its 10th anniversary.
For 11 evenings, several temporary light artworks and sculptures will be dotted among the docks and skyscrapers, forming a free trail that's open to everyone, alongside the area's permanent artworks.
Full details of artists and artworks taking part in the 2026 edition of Winter Lights can be seen on the website. We do know that it will have a theme of 'DREAMSCAPE', with a promise of "interactivity, movement, projection, playfulness and colour".

More good news: the seasonal ice rink in Canada Square Park remains in situ until late February, so you can combine a wander around the lights with a twirl on the ice. Our guide to eating and drinking in Canary Wharf has you covered for dinner/drinks/coffee/snacks.
Winter Lights in Canary Wharf takes place 20-31 January 2026, 5pm-10pm each evening. It's free to visit, no booking required. A map will be available online closer to the time, and stewards will hand out physical copies at the event.
