So let's just get this straight.

KFC — everyone's favourite fried chicken chain* — is offering Londoners the chance to work in their kitchens. And pay KFC for the privilege.

That's the gist, anyway.

The purveyor of buckets of deep-fried poultry is opening kitchen doors to 300 UK stores on 30 March, inviting fans to learn tricks of the trade, including hand-breading and frying a piece of chicken — building their own KFC burger.

He's lovin' it. Oh sorry, that's something else.

Tickets for the experience cost £5, which includes getting to devour your burger creation, plus a piece of original recipe chicken, fries, drink and a side. And before you scoff, profits go towards the KFC Foundation.

A number of London outlets are getting in on the action, although it appears that many have already sold out. At the time of writing, you can still get a-frying at Apex Corner (NW7), Colindale, Romford and South Mimms.

And if that's how you choose to spend your Saturday morning, well, more power to you.

*Actually we prefer Morley's. It's a south London thing.
