*TACO KLAXON* American-Mexican chain Taco Bell opens its first London branch for over 20 years today.
Since its London branches all closed in the 1990s, the capital has been void of the chain — although there have been Taco Bell restaurants in Lakeside Shopping Centre and other Essex locations, as well as elsewhere in the country, for many years. It's like they've been intentionally taunting taco-hungry Londoners.
The first branch in the US fast food joint's return to the capital opens at 100 King Street in Hammersmith today (23 November). In addition to the eponymous tacos (choose from soft, crunchy, or double decker), the menu includes burritos and quesadillas, and sides including nachos, fries, rice, and refried beans. Veggies are catered for too.
Croydon, Holborn and Fulham are also due to get a Taco Bell each before Christmas.
