All Aboard! Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Launches In London

A London bakery has launched Peppa Pig themed afternoon tea bus tours.

Fans of the porcine cartoon can now tuck into an afternoon tea themed around Peppa and her friends, thanks to Brigit's Bakery. The company has been running afternoon tea bus tours for a few years, but this latest menu is aimed at younger diners and their families.

Board the bus near Somerset House, and tuck into the special menu as you pass London sights including Tower Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe, St Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace. Each table is provided with a tablet which offers an animate guide to the sights whizzing past the window, plus there are sing along songs, and activity packs provided.

The menu has been tweaked for fans of the TV show. Savoury items include Mandy Mouse’s Cheddar Cheese finger sandwich and Daddy Pig’s Pizza mini margherita, while Peppa Pig’s Cookie Shortbread and Mummy Pig’s Strawberry Macaron with strawberry flavoured vanilla butter cream are among the sweet options. Veggie, vegan, gluten-free and Halal options are available on request, and may incur an additional charge.

It's not the first time Peppa and buses have combined in the capital — a London-based episode of the cartoon sees none other than the Queen herself driving a bus over an open Tower Bridge. No guarantees you'll have a regal driver — or death-defying stunts — on your route, but there's plenty to keep kids entertained.

Unlike this episode, the Queen probably won't be driving your bus.

Clearly Brigit's Bakery knows its audience well — normally, there are no toilets on board its afternoon tea buses, but parents will be relieved to know one will be provided, for use by children only, on these Peppa Pig tours. Bring on the hot chocolate!

Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tour takes place Thursday-Sunday every week, with tickets released one month at a time. It costs £35 child/£45 adult. Currently, tours are running a reduced capacity to comply with social distancing guidelines.
