Delicious New Afternoon Teas To Try In London This Month: September 2019
Burlington Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons Park Lane

Following Afternoon Tea Week last month, the scene has quietened down for September. Nonetheless, here are a handful of new menus for afternoon tea fans to munch through.

Saint & Sinner afternoon tea with interactive demonstration

Attend a special afternoon tea event at Cafe L'Oscar

We already introduced you to L'Oscar's Saint & Sinner afternoon tea, and we're pleased to report it's still going strong. For one day only, you can tuck into the tea while watching live demonstrations on whipping up top-notch cakes, and hearing talks from the Rare Tea Company. It takes place in the Library Room of the Holborn hotel, and you can pick from the Saint afternoon tea, or the Sinner version (includes booze).

Sip & Savour Society afternoon tea at L'Oscar Hotel. £65 Saints/£85 Sinners.

7 September, 3pm-5pm. Booking required: email [email protected].

Burlington afternoon tea at Four Seasons Park Lane

The Four Seasons Park Lane has teamed up with Burlington Arcade to mark the fancy shopping mall's 200th anniversary with a special afternoon tea.

Five bespoke cakes have been created, inspired by the British heritage and luxury of Burlington Arcade, including a miniature Burlington Beadle fashioned out of blueberry cheesecake. He's joined by a Velvet Hat (raspberry and vanilla sponge), nodding to Victorian fashions, and a Joss Flower, a layered aromatic cake consisting of peach and jasmine jelly.

The Burlington Battenberg reflects the marble floor of Burlington Arcade, and the 24ct covered Gold Nugget represents the intricate gold windows of the Arcade’s Piccadilly entrance.

Five traditional British sandwiches, and warm fruit and plain scones served with cream, jam and marmalade are also on the menu. Lovely.

Available: Until 31 December 2019.

Wizard afternoon tea at Georgian House Hotel

We've already been to try the magical new wizard afternoon tea at this boutique hotel in Victoria. Head down into the basement for a room decorated with wizard paraphernalia, and watch as cocktails and cakes 'smoke' thanks to a liberal and theatrical use of dry ice. Tuck into inventive sandwiches, crumbly scones and very clever desserts, including a 'cobweb' topped passionfruit jelly, and a chocolate wizard's hat. Oh, and they really like their popping candy.

Available: Daily, 2pm-5pm.
