This Map Shows How Hygienic Your Borough's Chicken Shops Are

Step away from the family bucket! That is, until you've checked out this map of average hygiene ratings of chicken shops across London's boroughs.

Casino.co.uk* collected the food hygiene ratings of every independent chicken shop in London, from the Food Standards Agency (FSA), then put together this interactive map.

The dodgiest borough for your drunken 2am supper? Richmond upon Thames, which has the shudderingly low average food hygiene rating of 1/5 for its chicken shops. That's a 'risk factor' of 80%.

Helping clock up this dubious claim to fame is Chicken Basket in Twickenham. The FSA's official line about this establishment is: 'Major improvement needed,' although apparently a fresh rating is imminent (here's hoping it isn't zero). Anyway, the Just Eat reviews suggest Chicken Basket is really tasty, so every cloud.

Looks tasty, but what's its hygiene rating? Image: Shutterstock

And the best borough for deep fried poultry munching? Havering, with an average hygiene rating of 4.5/5. Well we know where we'll be have-ring our chicken from now on...

It's optional for a restaurant or takeaway to display an FSA rating at its physical location in this country, but all ratings are available on the FSA's website. Do your research.

*Why's a betting site covering chicken? Media exposure we'd guess. Don't bet, kids.
